It’s finally here in the form of a Public Beta! You can access the software via a Discord server and try it out!

Once you join the discord server and answer a few questions about yourself, you can then head to the “Updates” channel and find the latest version. These are posted by the “Cakewalk Next” bot with Mac & Windows download links:

Once you have this installed on your Mac/Windows computer, you will be prompted to log into your Bandlab account to activate the software. Then you’re off to the races!

You can also add your feedback and feature suggestions in the Discord server. The community presence and Cakewalk team members seem quite active here.

I merely noticed this & installed Next yesterday, but will try to make a note to post my “two cents” as I get more familiar with the software and as more updates are deployed by the Cakewalk devs.

So, why is this a big deal? Well, if you’re a Bandlab user and are a major fan of their web-based DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), they are working on bringing this same easy-to-use functionality to a proper desktop application (FINALLY!).

Good times ahead.
