The Conflict
Internal strife and communal moments as a futurist, Christian, and enthusiastic techie
I’ve always been a techie, as well as a Christian. I’m also trying to be optimistic about the future, especially when focusing more on the world of tech and Christianity over political and social matters (guess that makes me a bigot…).
However, the struggle is becoming increasingly real. From my Christian perspective, more obvious narratives (on all sides) and certain social “things” that are clearly identified as “signs of the end times”:
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; 2 Timothy 3:1–4 (NLT Translation)
As for my inner techie, I’m also super psyched as well as concerned about new breakthroughs in the world of hardware and software. My futurist self who can’t wait to have next level tech in my possession is also considering buying a lot more “disconnected” pieces of tech because of what my inner tech and Christian keeps telling my futuristic self.
